i’m so overwhelmed with excitement and sunshiney feelings at presenting this week’s and the first ever speaker session mix from rene benoit. with a long history in electronic music, rene benoit is a maritime-native whose five years in montreal have allowed him to develop his brand of uniquely funky, minimal techno at venues and events around the city. his sound is at once quirky and almost industrial in its strength – full, round bounce with a hint of that animated silliness that’s so essential to techno music. undeniably one of the most musically intelligent individuals i know, his talent and drive is remarkably present in his 50 minute mix for littlecity. and how!

“hi there! here is a set i recently put together for littlecity. it’s mostly a minimal techno vibe but i also experimented with some deeper more progressive sounds and even some acid!
a lot of the tracks in here are edited or looped heavily and interestingly enough, there is even some hip hop style mixing! WEEEEE!!! so thanks to littlecity for having me and thanks to ya’ll for listening!”
